How to Cancel Real Player Superpass

Cancelling the Realplayer Superpass is one of the toughest things to do.  You call their “cancellation number” and listen to nice elevator music for over an hour.  It would even drive me to cursing.

Do yourself a favor, call the Customer Support number and press #3 to get a live person within a couple of minutes.  They can cancel you with no problem.

The number is 1-866-585-4541.

Call between Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm - Eastern Time or Saturday - Sunday, 10:30 am to 8:00 pm - Eastern Time.

You will also want to check the comments below because there's a great tip in the second one.

If you change your language to “English (Canada)”, your Zip/Postal code to “243-8511″, and your Country/Region to “Japan”, Real will then let you cancel your service online

I installed the 14-day real player free trial but did not create an account when asked. I still have the software on my computer and would like to delete it but am unsure if i will be charged for it. (though i don't know who seeing at i don't have an account.) does anyone know if its know if i will be charged or is it okay to delete?

The Japan/Canada info worked! They still jerked me around by saying "session has expired" as well as few error messages, but eventually it let me enter the info and cancel.

Awesome tip thanks! I was on the phone for half an hour a month ago and tried to explain that my computer wouldn't allow me to use the program so she gave me a worthless month free but wouldn't let me cancel. Then i remembered I'd have to do it again hour before the payment and luckily found this to save the day!

Hi there,
I tried several times to cancel my subscriptions but failed. I surfed the internet and came cross this site and used the info given to change my language, my zip/postal code and country/region and it actual worked. Many thanks for your invaluable help. Thanks again. HK

Still works.

The Japan/Canada info switch is still working as of Aug. 11, 2011. Surprised it's still working after this many years. I hate companies where you have to jump through hoops just to cancel a free trial subscription. THANK YOU!!!

Just used this trick to save myself the horrors of tech service phone calls. Thanks for the tip, still works in 2011

This is written 28 August 2011. Thank you very much. Unbelievable that they cheat you into using it. By making it a utterly ridiculous and costly process to cancel.

Japan trick still working. You'll get an error message. But go back to the my info page of your account and see if it has updated. Mine did and then, hey presto, cancelled easy. I will NEVER purchase another product from Realplayer again because they obviously make it VERY difficult to cancel intentionally.
